PRODUCT
This is an unsolicited design for a local non-profit done as part of a school project. It's a set of branding guidelines which includes a redesigned logo, new color palette, fonts, images, grid system, and collateral. The guidelines were made print ready.
CLIENT
The San Jose Public Library Foundation provides advocacy, financial support, and leadership to public libraries and educational programs throughout San Jose to create an educated, equitable, and engaged community.
Logo Design
The logo is tree which represents knowledge, learning, and community. The leaves of the tree are made to be in the shape of San Jose which alludes to the physical location of the business.
Photos
Photos were selected to which represent the look and feel that the business's mission depicted. These were light airy photos of a happy and healthy community.
Colors
I selected a neutral color palette with muted orange and green accents to convey a professional but welcoming and community-oriented business.
Newsletter
I designed a custom grid system which could be used for newsletters and other items for print.

Collateral
Custom collateral including letterheads, business cards, and envelopes were included to help serve various business needs.
TAKEAWAYS
This was a really fun project where I focused on capturing the feel of the business through the visuals, colors, and font choices. I also got to practice designing grids, collateral, writing instructions for other designers, and preparing a document for print.
